About Me:
Currently trying to teach myself predictive astrology (transits and progressions, ya know) while being simultaneously smashed upon the rocks of the lack of scientific evidence supporting the claims of astrology ..a conceptual/existential quagmire, lol.
Have written poetry for many years ..though not in the past several months.
From time to time enjoy practicing my counseling skills as a ‘life coach’, ‘motivational counselor’, whatever one would care to call it. My approach is very nurturing, personal, maternal even, and in these times I often get sickened with how far from the values of the nurturing and maternal American society has turned in favor of ambitious, non-personal (obsessive individualism is not personal, it’s naieve narcissism, i say) and even more pronounced patriarchal values ..and so from time to time I throw all my efforts aside in disgust, go into hermit mode, and dream of moving to a civilization where people arent so obsessed with themselves. I dont disagree with that current overwhelming trend in my culture. I did it myself over a decade ago when it was still considered by the moral majority to be a maniacally selfish way to live. I dont want to undermine or destroy it or whatnot ..let them have their way ..let them learn ..in the meantime its just often very freaking lonely. For some it is a way of life very natural to them, yes, there are people of ambitious nature, of what one could call ‘classically masculine’ nature, and the current trend of our culture is very much in-sync with the way such people indeed need to live life for the sake of happiness and being true to themself ..but these people are actually relatively rare ..and what always happens with a trend is the appearance that many more people are essentially of such nature than actually are ..many can benefit from such an exercise though, for a time ..and for the rest conformity is conformity no matter how ‘progressive’ the value invloved seems to be. It cant last. At which point the survival of American civilization will depend on it having to once again grow a little warmer whether it wants to or not. I see it perched headlong in the act of running itself into an emotional and social drought that will require a tremendous rebalancing. Stopping trends of all sorts would be a wonderful solution. Heh.
